As a newcomer to creating DVD slideshows... can someone help me out with the optimum image size (in pixels) to get the best results.
Cheers

Hi,
I've read here on the forum that you should resize images to 720x480 or 720x576. But the utilities I've been resizing with want to resize my pics to slightly different dimensions (like 720x472). Does it need to be exactly 720x480 or 720x576, or can it be approximate?
Thanks,

To be honest with you I don't resize the images anymore for MF.
I simply clean them up before I import them.
MF converts them just fine. At least for me.
The help file says to make the picture 720x576 if you do convert them
or if your converting them from a format that MF can't recognize to a
format MF can recognize.

Thanks--that's good to hear. The reason I asked is that on the first slideshow I created, some of the pictures have a shimmering quality to them that I want to avoid. Was hoping that would be fixed by resizing. I'll play with it and see what happens.

If you mean that a small section is shimmering or pulsating
and not the complete picture that is usually because your
displaying a high resolution picture on a low resolution device (TV).
In other words there is to much fine detail in that section of the picture.
Many people use an effect called gassion blur (or something like that)
to reduce the fine detail in the picture.
hope this helps,
