VS 9 MEPG2/DVD Rendering .. Not Playable in Windows Media

Post by dblml320 »

I have a 9 clip project in VS9. Each clip is a collection of photographs. My first pass at completeing each clip was to save it in DV AVI, for eventual burning on to a DVD.

I burned a test DVD and noticed several glitches in the pictures. So I decided to try rendering into MPEG2. The MPEG2 seems more stable during the playback in VS9 after rendering, however, if I try to play one of these clips in Windows Media Player, it cannot play it.

One wierdness is that WMP reports the video size in the file to be 720x540, but I selected NTSC DVD, which should be 720x480 .. could this be a bug in the VS9 codecs?

Is there any way to change the output codec in VS9?

Jav,
WMP v9 and v10 have a bug that declares VS9 produced 720x480 video as 720 x 540. Use PowerDVD for checking playback.

John,

Thanks for that info on WMP. I was wondering why it showed PAL as 768x576 instead of 720x576.

David :D
That'll do me nicely lad
