I had a hard drive crash that had VS11 on it.
I recovered the files, got a new HDD and ran the REPOINTED
target, all was well. Working great.
Then I LOST the capture PREVIEW screen!
I uninstalled it. Reinstalled the whole kaboodle including the power pack
the hot fix and one other DL.
Of course I lost all my database of pics and vids, but now at CAPTURE,
I still have no PREVIEW window - it shows for 5 seconds then goes black!
I CAN record (Capture) and edit window shows for editing, but I cannot
anymore SEE what I am capturing!
WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?
Thanks in advance of any assistance.

Double-check that your Preferences are set for Instant Playback
Target: Preview Window.

Ron and Jeff:
Thanks for looking. Not it. I have been using VS since6.0 about 7 years?
Never seen this before. I did recently have that HDD crash and had
to purchase a 70 dollar pgm to recover the data from RAW back to
a NEW HDD in NTFS. The video headers somehow are ruined in both
avi and mpeg files, but luckily my IMPORTANT vids were backed UP!
I am wondering two things:
a. I have basically installed VS11 twice now. Once it worked fine for awhile
but then I installed a virus pgm from Zone alarm and now this
stupid black screen appears after about 3 or 4 seconds of preview.
If I hit full screen, same thing but shorter appearance .5 second then
black. Gspot from klite codec says I am missing a MPEGacm.acm
file in my MBR drive. (Another HDD.) But when searched it is there!
68K in size. Gspot says file is not there! Send me yours!
helicopter@cox.net I will at least try that. VS must look to common files
for this audio codec. Audio is fine. ANYONE?
Tanks again!

What happens if you uninstall the Zone Alarm, then reinstall VS?
