Multisession DVD

While trying to burn a partial DVD, I checked the do not close box. Then before Movie Factory converts my files, I get the "You have chosen to burn a multisession disk, some DVD players might have trouble playing it. With disable continue, continue, and cancel buttons below the message. I hit continue, it then burns the video files I added. My video files were a gig or so. I wanted to burn the rest of the DVD later. However, after looking at the partially burnt DVD in the start/my computer window it says the DVD is full. This also happens when I burn a partial DVD or CD with nero. Is there a setting I have to change on my burner?
