Can someone reproduce this problem in VS8?

Post by Keith C »

Hi, I'm using VS8 with the Burger transitions.

I drag two - 5 second jpgs to the storyboard and then insert the "Chars" Burger transition between the 2 jpg clips. There are no other clips on the story board. Immediately VS8 freezes and looking at the task manager I have this: vstudio.exe - cpu usage 99 - mem usage 49312k. Also in the Local settings/temp folder I find the following "Security Catalog Files" have appeared:
~~Frame.CAT - 102,400 KB
~~THUMB.CAT - 5120 KB
~~VTHUMB.CAT - 5120 KB

This problem does not happen with any other Burger transitions and I particularly wanted to use this one for a project.

I have to shutdown VS8 in the task manager and then I can restart the program - I don't have to reboot the computer.

Could some kind person try and replicate this situation to see if it is just my problem or one that is caused by a faulty vfx file.

Many thanks
Trevor Andrew

Hi Keith

You are correct the transition 'Chars' think its numbered 12 does indeed freeze video studio.

Delete the corrupt file burger12.vfx

I also saw a note from some other user on the burger forum/site complaining about this.

All the others are good.

Thanks for that Trevor.

I have deleted no. 12. Glad it was not just me. BTW do these Burger transitions work OK in VS9?

Mine seem to.

I haven't run the list.

I do not have VS 9,

Awaiting the trial before upgrading

I see no reason why they should not work.
