copying photos with descriptions
I have Photoexplorer 8 on two PC's. How do I copy photos from one to the other without losing the descriptions.

I've tried searching for an answer, however can not find any documentation specific to this. So I'll ask, have you tried, and are the descriptions lost?
It would appear that this feature is specific to PhotoExplorer. I've some photos with descriptions, and used various other photo programs to see if the descriptions can be accessed or viewed, but so far PE is the only app that reveals this.
Sorry my only other PC is running Vista, and as PE is not Vista compliant, I'm not going to go through a bunch of "workarounds" to try and get it installed or running on it. So I have no way of running some tests to see if and how this may work..

I have no experience with PhotoExplorer, but have developed an interest in embedded metadata, and have just "been through the mill" with my new version of PhotoImpact X3, bundled Corel MediaOne, Irfanview, MS PhotoInfo Tool 1.0 (free download), PI X3 browser, and the new Windows Live Photo Gallery (free download, covers many of the same bases as Corel MediaOne, but takes up even more hard disk space and does not necessarily support Corel/Ulead proprietary files).
The short answer to the question is that it may take all of the above to read Ulead Photo Explorer "descriptions" with any/all of those applications, or that you may find that the descriptions are not embedded in the original photo file, but are in a ULead proprietary folder of thumbnails. Or those "descriptions" may be in a separate spreadsheet database that only Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc can read.
What would I do? First download MS PhotoInfo Tool 1.0 and see if anything shows up there. If nothing shows up in PhotoInfo Tool, use that utility to practice putting metadata in a jpeg. Then come back and explain it to those of us who do not have Ulead Photo Explorer for one reason or another, such as Vista.
