Gen had good results editing downloaded DV tapes (saved as DV type 2) and burning them to DVD
However I seem to have changed "something"
The quality is very high when editing clips or project as an .avi file but when I save to .vsp for burning to DVD the play back seems a bit less crisp and a little pale. Sound is fine
Ive tried changing project preferences and settings and also "saved as" PAL DVD 4.3 and "as project settings" but results not as good as previously
Is there a recognised combination that should give best results??
Many appols if this is or should be obvious to me!
Would an upgrade to the v11 programme offer any improvement?
Thanking in advance for any assistance

Hi Mickey
I'm not sure if you just have the terminology mixed up but a VSP file is not a video file or format it's basically text file with coded instructions on what to do with a real video file at what time. Just like an edit sheet with a shot list for video and sound.
Under dropdown menu: File/Prferences/General tab click on "Show message when inserting first video clip into timeline"
This gives you a message asking if you want your Project settings to match your video settings...click yes to accept.
Your project settings should always match video settings. Presuming all your video files are the same format. Which is the preferred way to work.
If you don't know your video file formats put them on the timeline, right click and select properties.
There are a couple of ways to then share your finished project which you have saved as a VSP (Video Studio Project).

Dear Clevo
Thank you for the info. on checking the project props these were quite different to the recorded video settings so I have made them all the same.
I am guessing that when I now go to "share" I should save as either same as first clip or project prop (which should now both be the same!) rather than as a template DVD.
Once this file is created is there anything I should be careful of when moving to burn the DVD?
Thanking you again for assisting such a luddite!
Regards
