Have installed my VideoStudio SE 7, but can't get it to run. It does not start; instead it gives me an error which says "Unable to find function address iplGetLibVersion" and when I click the ok button, it then concludes with the followin message; "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application." I have been unable to move beyond this stage to start using my product. Has anyone got a similar experience and if so, how did you resolve it. By the way, I am running Windows XP.
Thanks

Application unable to find function address iplGetLibVersion

JKB,
while I have never encountered these messages together I have encountered the Oxc000142 error and I have slight knowledge of the ipl prefix. I'm not an expert and I'm sure that others will chime in if I'm not clear or mis-state something
So with that said, here goes.
I encountered the MS Oxc000142 error and found out from a friend that usually it's from an antivirus program interfering with the win32 application. For me, I shut down my Norton and the error message went away. Another time I got this message and did not have my anitvirus software running. I found out that a hijack was on my PC. I ran Spybot S&D and sure enough, it found a hijack code in my registry. After removal all was OK.
The ipi thing is a prefix from Intel, image processing library. It sounds like it can't find a needed .dll. I think the 2 go hand in hand. I would uninstall VS, run a complete virus check then run a spyware/adware program and clean out the registry and temp files. Reboot, disable your virus program and then re-install VS.
