"Cannot Start The Capture Graph" PLZZZZ HELP!!

Post by m05twant3d »

Ok i have Ulead VideoStudio 11, I am capturing through a Video Xpress Composite Capture Card, I was capturing some video format MPEG-1 before i got the message, after about maybe 2 hours of using it, i closed it, later on that day i opned it back up and tried capturing again, i would not let me capture and the message "Cannot Start The Capture Graph" popped up and now i cant do anything, it was working fine before that....I have restated my pc plenty of times and also reinstalled VS11 plenty of times and the problem persists...

Go to the Hardware Manager and uninstall your Video Xpress Composite Capture Card. restart the computer and let it re-install the drivers for it then try again.

Your capture card is, I believe, made by Adstech. Adstech is one of a number of companies which make capture hardware which will only work -- or work properly -- with their own software. They won't share the technical secrets with other companies so that these other companies, like Corel, can design their software (such as Video Studio) to work, or work properly with the Adstech hardware.

However, Adstech cards and capture devices normally come with an Adstech capture program called CapWiz which in fact does an excellent job in capturing. So we normally advise in such cases to use CapWiz to capture and then open the captured video in VS for editing/authoring.

Well ther reason i got VS11 is because the sofware for the Capture Card I have didnt even work, I just did as I was told I unistalled the drivers for the Capture Card and reinstalled them, but the problem persists....What I dont understand is that it was working fine and then it stopped...

Try removing the device from your computer and re-inserting it.
It is possible that it could be a dirty or loose connection.

Last suggestions then before you try the ADS Tech Web page, see if there are any updated drivers. Also take a look at this link:
