Sonic Fire Pro

Post by Clevo »

Currently using VS11.5+ and that includes a nice selection of smartsounds that I really enjoy using.

Looking at other libraries available there are a few I have my eye on and if I read the website coreectly if I buy 2 or more libraries Sonic Fire Pro is included for free.

Before I purchase anything I'm interested in hearing from Sonic Fire pro users and listening to their experiences using this product.

I'm interested in hearing how well it integrates with VS, any problems, pitfalls.

If you have published video's online perhaps you can share a link, especially if you are using smartsounds from libraries you have purchased/imported.

I'm impressed with what sonicfire pro can do would like to here from users.

Thanks

Well I bought SonicFire Pro and got 2 Libraries for free.. :?

I've been using it for a little while. Due to the cost of the libraries I haven't added much at all.

The big selling point in my opinion is the Strata Series. You can really tailor the songs. It works well with VS, however not as plug-in. You can bring in a video (not a VSP) to SFP, and then choose your music to fit. Once that is done, you have the option of exporting the sound file, or the sound file and the video used. It will mix the audio in with your video clip.

Here's some examples where I used SFP for the audio..

Warning
Do not download the trial version. Downloading the trial version is known to have an adverse effect on your wallet...:)

One thing that SmartSound does is offer a free upgrade too. So if you were to purchase the libraries and get SFP 4.5, you would get SFP 5 free when it is released..;)

I want to ask:

I can just purchase libraries to add to the ones VS alerady has. Is that a simple enough process and will any library disc work or do I have to avoid some of the like the strata series, which obviously work better with SF Pro

Stratus series work best with SonicFire Pro, because they are multi-layer, and made to work with SonicFire Pro's Mood Mapping. I don't believe they will work with VS as the Quicktracks do. In fact I can not access them from VS. I have to use SonicFire Pro, which is easier to sync the video to your tunes.

For example I opened VS11 and went to the Auto Music, then selected All from the Scope menu. This allows for previewing the music available for purchase on-line. I also had my browser at SmartSounds webpage, comparing those that show in VS. None of the Strata Series songs can be seen through VS.

Open a browser window to this page: http://www.smartsound.com/music/. Look through them, especially the ones marked with ML (Multi-Layer) or Strata Series. Then with VS look through the Libraries and you will see that none of the Strata Series can be found or brought up in VS.

I know from that SonicFire Pro has a similar function where you can preview and purchase songs, called Maestro. Through it you can purchase individual songs from the Strata Series.

Go ahead and download the trial version of SonicFire Pro. If you can't afford it, fine the trial runs out and you're no worse off then now. It will also let you know if it's something that you would want to use.

Have you watched the tutorials? http://www.smartsound.com/sonicfire/demos/index.html They will show you just what can be done with SFP.

Blacklab uses Digital Juice's products. Some of which I wish I could afford, like their Jumpbacks. They are also pricey..;)

I use quite a few of the Sonic fire Pro libraries.
You have a choice between bulk and quality.

For quality you purchase the rather expensive 44k libraries.
For bulk you can buy the cheaper 22k libraries and they come in collections where you can purchase several discs as a set. My first purchase was a set of 11 discs that cost about £150, might seem expensive but I think it was worth it.

Ron, did you sign up for the Digital Juice e-newsletter? DJ always has something on sale, and with the e-newsletter it is easy to keep on top of them.

Good game! Like Coach Williams said at the half, no game was ever won or lost in the first half. But games are often decided at the free throw line, and Memphis definitely blew it there.

And yes, that is a problem with DJ. So much to choose from, so little money to spend.

Coach Williams??? No, the Jayhawks beat him in the Final 4. Roy went back to his old school, NC about 5 or so yrs ago. Bill Self took his place. Now there is buzz about Bill going back to Oklahoma..

Yep I finally settled on 2 jumpbacks, so I'll have some good animated backgounds.

SmartSound is running a sale, that is short lived.

Buy one or more Strata Series disc and get SonicFire Pro 4.5 free. However that's not the real bargin..

Image

If you buy or get SonicFire Pro 4.5 you are eligible for a free upgrade to SonicFire Pro 5. Like the image states Coming in June 2008, and June is already half over...

Edited:
Well they changed the release time. When I posted this, the image did in fact state coming in June... :?
