All renders in VS11 play in slow motion....why?

Post by redman9 »

I have an Aiptek HD camera that unfortunately creates .nsmov files in 720X480. Aiptek told me that Ulead VS can convert and or edit them....so I bought it. I have tried various different render formats and batch conversions in VS. All of them render but play back the finished file in slow motion. WHAAAAT?
Anyone have any ideas? I'm stuck with these files that I can't do anything with...:(
Thanks in advance for any help at all.....

Welcome to the forums!

I have never heard of that format before, and was not aware that VS could handle them. It is possible that VS might be able to do so, say by changing 'nsmov' to just '.mov' as in normal QuickTime movies... But I don't know for sure... Surely there was some capture/conversion software included on the camera's installation CD???

If you had done a Google search before posting here, you would have come up with various responses as I did. One, towards the top of the list, gave the following information:
This is the reply I got from Aiptek

You can use the video editing and CD burning software with NERO VISION 7.0; software package NERO SUITE 4.0, VLC software, Adobe Premiere 2.0 software, and software AVSMEDIA video converter. Extra software from installation CD.

I have also been able to do it by converting the file using the free version of Any Video Converter http://www.any-video-converter.com/prod ... ideo_free/

Thanks for replying Ken, the included sw is extremely slow and a pathetic afterthought, AND would not convert??? Go figure. Aiptek recommended Ulead so off I went on this path. I have Adobe Premier Pro and it doesn't recognize .nsmov, another ??? I cannot just rename the files as they are named .mov when they are in reality .nsmov. The whole situation is very odd and frustrating. I will try your link etc and report back.
Thanks again.....
PS, I am very familiar with forums. I had run various Googles and Ulead board searches without any real success. I DO appreciate being able to post and inquire here. Thanks

Hi Ken, sorry for disappearing. Yes, I can play them in Quicktime.
I followed your tip and installed "any video converter" and used it on one file. It created a HUGE file but it DID convert to an mpeg. Problem was it didn't convert retaining the file's 16:9 ratio. I will try it again and make sure I have 16:9 selected and post back....
Thank you muchly for your help!
