With videostudio6 the timeline showed each frame separately which was a great boon for editing. I have recently updated to the SEversion8 and only the first frame of a movie is shown with the remainder blank. The yellow bar at the beginning of the movie is shown but nothing after the first frame. Grateful for any help.

It's in File Prefences

I wondered the same thing when I upgraded to VS7. You go into file preferences and for Clip Display Mode select Thumbnail Only. Not very obvious really as logically you would expect it just to display the first thumbnail given the naming of the other options.

Many thanks. I doubt whether I would ever have worked this one out. Really appreciative.

That said...

I Know its a user preference, but I seem to get better response time when I DO NOT show thumbnails. Just a thought for those with computers that are "on the edge borderline" powerful enough for some video editing...

Point taken George but with the frames on show it is possible to do some fine editing when required.

Frame-level editing is possible regardless of how video clips are displayed in the timeline -- that's a function of the zoom level.
