WinDVD9 with BlueRay

Post by JohnR »

I have down load the WinDVD9 Plus BlueRay and installed it with no errors, then input the auth code so at first all looks good but the first sign of a problem was that in the title bar it identified the product as WinDVD Plus not WinDVD Plus BlueRay and when trying to play a disk I get "mismatch between disk and player region codes" however all of the region controls are gray and non selectable as well as most of the other features, and now that I am looking at it none of the Video controls are usable.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no effect.
Running a Dell XPS 1730
2.8 Mhz Core 2 4 GB ram Nvida 8800 GTX with Vista SP1

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums,

Trial version or purchased? The trial version seems to be only the WinDVD Plus, not the WinDVD Plus Blu-Ray..

Hi All.....

I also have this problem i have xp and vista on seperate hardrives and a full version of windvd+ on vista the bd region code change is showing 0 changes left and no regions selected thats with no disc in the drive and thats after install with no changes made. The actual drive is set to region 2 and still has 4 changes left.

On xp i went straight in and changed the bd region code to region 2 no problems...

Strange....lol

I'm running Vista sp1, with the latest full version of WinDVD 9 with Blu-ray and although the region tab shows the correct region for both DVD and Blu-ray, I'm unable to play Gone Baby Gone which indicates it's also in the same region. I tried to do update the firmware of my Lite-On Blu-ray drive, but it didn't help. My other discs play fine.

well i have to say this is possibly the worst software out there and the customer support is a joke, no wonder they dont put bluray support in the trial because sales would plummet.

Been trying for a refund but have given up and put down windvd9 as just one of lifes big mistakes , so if anybody reading this has not yet made the purchase, think twice.
