Available colours for text

Post by terry dennis »

I have searched for an answer to the above topic with no success.

The 'Border/Shadow/Transparency' option on the 'TITLE' tab gives 'ULead Color Picker' , then 'Windows Color Picker' and finally a palette of a more limited choice of colours underneath.

I find that the 'Ulead Color Picker' and 'Windows Color picker' options are inactive ................ or is it because I don't know how to use them ??

Anyone got any answers ?

I can't seem to make them inactive. When you select your text in the time-line the step changes to Title. Even without having the text selected in the preview window, the colors are active, and able to be changed..

I know that you are in the right place (time-line view), title track selected, title step, or else you would not be seeing them.

What version are you using, VS11, 10, 9? Is it a full version, a trial, or SE?
Did you obtain it from Corel, Ulead or Ebay?

It seems that you have a corrupted install, or have not fully installed the program. You have a Content Packs file that needs to be installed along with the Main Program file.

So you have all 3 versions, Full trial and SE, that you obtained from Corel and Ebay?? ....:) :)

First try installing the Content Packs again. See it that corrects your text color issue. If not then if you have the Disc (boxed version) go to the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, and see if doing a Repair install is possible. If not.. Try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products

The Reinstall or Repair install may also correct your problem described in your other post..http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=30399

Now that I have a fully capable system and am back editing , I will resume on the colour problem !!

When I go into 'Ulead Colour Picker' or the 'Windows Colour Picker' options above the standard colour pallette , I get a wondrous array of different shades of colours. Unfortunately , when I select most shades I get a message which says "Colour has been changed by a filter" and further of the type "RGB(128,255,0)=>RGB(95,188,0)" and the resultant colour is of a different shade to that which I was trying to select.

I have tried a 'repair' with the original source disc and that has made no difference.
Ron also suggested the following "First try installing the Content Packs again. See it that corrects your text color issue". However , I do not understand what is meant by the "Content packs". Can you explain what is meant and how to do it ? Is there anything else that could be limiting my choice of colours ?

Regards

Ok, your color problem is nothing more then an automatic filter being applied, so that it does not appear harsh when viewing on a television. There are certain colors, like red, that would require sunglasses if it were not toned down.

To stop this, go into the Preferences dialog (Press F6 on your keyboard, or File menu>Preferences), and go to the Edit tab. Uncheck the first option Apply Color Filter--NTSC/PAL.

This is what the User Guide says:
Apply color filter: Select to configure VideoStudio to confine its color
palette to those visible in the NTSC or PAL filter color space to make sure
that all the colors are valid. Clear if for monitor display only.

If you want to learn more (or get slightly confused) :) you can read about this on the following web page:
