Center point of an object.

Post by dewman »

Having had C3DPS for quite a while but am just now playing around with it. Problem: I used the easy palette to put an earth object on the screen. I want to rotate it but when I enter 360 in the y rotation the earth wobbles. How do I select a new center point on an object?

What I found to get the globe to not wobble while rotating, is to ungroup it, then regroup so I can get the menu prompt. I then select the top option "Center of subgroups mesh bounding".

I think you did it wrong, the earth actually does wobble.
Aren't you amazed at the realism of the animation Cool3D can render?
I think your problem is that your animation rotates too fast. You need to make a turn every 24 hours or so...

Ok OK I'm gone...
This my understanding of it.
I have been proven wrong on several occasions in my life. It's not going to improve.

I rotation every 24hrs, NTSC = 29.97 fps..

29.97 * 3,600(secs in 1 hour)=107892 frames (for 1 hour) * 24hrs =2,589,408 frames for his project. Render time = about 2 months..;)

You keep exaggerating Ron.
First for us PAL people at 25 Fps there are not so many frames.

And also while you may think it's long you have to consider that you could start that just before going to vacation, and also it's only two or three times (you probably misplace something the fisrt or second tries) and then you can use your intro times and times over.

And if you had to do it over anyway, each rendering is faster and faster
since you probably bought a new CPU in-between.

On the other hand I like to do it interlaced, so I can get smoother transitions.
This my understanding of it.
