Capture help from DVD camcorder

Post by dbraker »

I have a Canon DVD camcorder. Is it possible to capture the video using video studio 10. If not is it possible to capture from a DVD. Thanks for the help.

By the way, instructions would be helpful. Thanks

I don't have a DVD camcorder, but I think it's pretty standard procedure to take the disc out of your cam and put it in your pc, then instruct VideoStudio to Insert from DVD.

You may have to finalize your disc. Check your manual.

DVD camcorders are designed to be detected by Windows as a USB Mass Storage Device.
Because of that the only software you can use to transfer your files from the disc when it is still in the camcorder will be the software provided with the cam.
If you are using any other software you will have to finalize the disc in the cam, take the disc out and place it in the DVD tray of the computer.
You then use the "Import DVD/VR" function of VS to import the files.
