Particles
I am new to posting on this forum, but have looked at it many times before and have been impressed by it's helpfulness. I used to have VideoStudio 8 and downloaded the free "Particles" package which I used to put both bubbles and snow onto my videos. I have now upgraded to VideoStudio 11 plus, which has a bubbles effect but no snow! I have tried to run the Particles package but it only seems to want to work with Photoshop. Is Particles incompatible with version 11, and if so can anyone tell me how I can simulate snow?

Welcome to the forums,
How did you put snow onto your videos using the Particle plug-in? I have VS8 and it does not have a snow filter or anyway to import filters that I'm aware of.
With VS11 try using the Rain video filter. Then customize it. Play with the length and width settings, making the length real short and the width about ½ way. You will also need to adjust some of the other settings such as vibration, density, wind, and speed. Playing around with those settings will produce a snow effect..
Here's the settings I used to produce a decent snow effect:

Hi
Thanks for your helpful reply. I got the bubbles as a freebie from the Ulead site. See Download- Free goodies http://www.ulead.com/download/freegoodies.htm
I ran it and it added the option to the effects and you could change it from bubbles to snow or confetti. I'll try playing about with the rain one as you have suggested.
Thanks again.
