WinDVD 9 Install problems - IVIVIDEO.AX

Post by garry_kramer »

I have been trying to install WinDVD 9 many times after I purchased it online. I keep getting the following problem.

Error 1904 Module c:\program files\intervideo\common\bin\IVIVIDEO.AX failed to register Hresult - 2147220473. contact your support personal.

I tried to register it as suggested by Corel tech support but I get another error:
Load Library ("C:\program") failed - the specified module could not be found.

This is getting VERY frustrating. I have tried to install/Uninstall WinDVD9 about 10 times with no success.

Pleas help.

Have you looked in Windows Explorer to see if it exists.
C:\Program Files\InterVideo\Common\Bin\IVIVIDEO.ax 5,821 KB

If it is missing you can get a copy here

The file is created when I install WinDVD9. It is there. I can see it with Windows Explorer. When I uninstall WinDVD9 the Intervideo directory is also uninstalled.

I will try to install again and use the new IVIVIDEO.AX you show me.

Thanks

Just reinstalled WinDVD9 same thing. delete the installed version of IVIVIDEO.ax and copied your version. then tried to register it again. No luck. got the same error. Load Library ("C:\program") failed - the specified module could not be found.

copied IVIVIDEO.ax to new directory, tried to register it, same thing. error.

Maybe I am missing a file in the directory, there are 23 files in the Bin directory.

Thanks[/img]

I have 169 files in that directory, and that specific file is 5.68Mb . However I have numerous programs from Ulead, a few from Intervideo, and then Corel installed, which may be the reason for so many files in that directory for me.

I can email a copy of that file from my system to see if it may work, instead of one from a "dll download site".

It wasn't from a dll download site, it was a copy from my installation.

Thanks Vidoman, I'll try the .ax file you sent me. Is there a way to stop XP from loading any or all memory programs including spyware? Then install WinDVD9?

Thanks

Just tried to install it AGAIN! Same problem IVIVIDEO.ax did not register. After the install I went to the command prompt and entered the CD\program files\intervideo\common\bin. then I tried RegSvr32 ivivideo.ax still got the error LoadLibrary ("ivivideo.ax") failed - the specifeid module could not be found. This leads me to believe that there are files that ivivideo.ax calls up when you RegSvr32 it. Would I be correct? If so how can I find out what files I am missing? I then copied the file that vidoman sent me to the bin dir, tried to RegSvr32 it, same problem LoadLibrary.

Thanks

1. Launch Windows Explorer and go to
"Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders".
2. Purge / delete all the files in these folders:
"C:\Windows\Temp"
"C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp"
*It is safe to delete all contents of these folders. However, leave any files you can¡¦t delete for now.
3. Delete the folders / directory "C:\Program Files\Corel\DVD9"
4. Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information"
5. Delete the folder "{E3993D46-AE3F-402E-9F9D-EEBDFBEC3564}"
6. Go to Start-->Run
7. Type "regedit" then "Ok".
8. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Uninstall
9. Locate and delete the identity enclosed in curly brackets that corresponds to Corel WinDVD 9.0:
"{E3993D46-AE3F-402E-9F9D-EEBDFBEC3564}"
10. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\DVD9"
11. Delete the folder
12. Close Regedit and restart Windows.
13. Reinstall WinDVD 9.0
Note: You need to have "Administrator" privileges on your computer. "Limited" or "Guest" accounts won't let Ulead software install or run properly on your computer.

My computer just boots up, I don't log in. How do I find out if I have Administrator privileges? I have not had a problem installing ANY other software on this machine.

I am thinking I should not of bought this software.

Thanks

If you look at the system requirements, it does not have Media Center Edition included. That may be why you're having these problems..

Is there a software that you recommend that I can transfer VHS tapes to DVD? If WinDVD9 won't work on my computer.

Thanks

WinDVD 9 is not a video editor or DVD authoring program. It is only used for playing DVDs on a PC..

Sure, BUT, this depends on how and what your using to capture the VHS video?

Vista threw a big monkey wrench in VideoStudio. It seems to have problems with certain capture devices, especially when it comes to analog video, which VHS is.

Also it is important to know if you want to edit the video prior to producing DVDs or just want to get them to DVD with little or no editing involved.

VideoStudio is designed to edit video, with minimal DVD authoring capabilities.

DVD MovieFactory is a DVD authoring program, with minimal editing.

Hello Sirs,

Sorry for interrupting your discussion here. I'm new to this forum, I ended up here looking for a solution to my problem which is somewhat similar to the problem of sir garry kramer. I have manage to install WinDVD9 Plus but it won't start, the program hangs up after the splash screen the main window appears but it freeze (can't click anything).

I'm using Vista as my OS
And I have checked the directory you have been discussing lately. I have 23 files in the bin folder and this specific file IVIVIDEO.ax has a size of 5.68MB
