You have to Customize one of the templates. In the Customize Menu window, just below the preview window on the left, press the Add to Menu Template.

Hiding objects

Post by JohnDale »

Thanks for your help vidoman. I have another question which is in regards to hiding objects in the menu. Does this mean the object, such as a play or skip button, will be inactive in the final DVD? or does it mean it is still there but hidden, which reall defeats the purpose of removing the object from the menu in the first place. Doesn't it???

When you hide it it is merely hidden, hence the term "hiding".

hiding ???

Post by JohnDale »

Yeah obviously I understand the word "hiding" but as stated in my post "what is the point" of hiding the object such as a play button if it is still active.

What you can do is burn the DVD to a hard drive folder with the unwanted buttons hidden. Then you can remove those hidden buttons completely with a third party program.

There are two programs that I have which are capable of doing this.

1. PGCEdit - This one is free.
2. MenuEdit - not very expensive but easier for a task of this nature.
