I have installed this on my Desktop and my laptop, but when I try to play an HD-DVD both return the same results.
The HD-DVD starts and shows the FBI warning, then the player stop and displays a message...
"Your display environment does not support protected content playback"
What does this mean?

I'd guess that the graphics card/display that you're attempting to play back through aren't HDCP compliant.
Have a read through here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCP#Uses
If you're lacking a HDCP compliant graphics card/display you could try and use something like anyDVD to strip the protection and allow playback.
Regards,
Jim

WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray does not play my HD-DVD's
Now that I have upgraded my system to HDCP compliant parts, I am now getting the "WinDVD MFC" Application errror when ever I try to play an HD-DVD. The screen displayes the FBI warning, the when it continues to the actual movie, it crashes.
Also, in the Setup options, if I click on the Audio/Video Tab, it crashes with the same error.
