I bought a new computer and time to upload my software.. installion was weird.. told me it couldn'T install it since I had a newer version of Quicktime... so I delete me version of quicktime to see what happens. Try to load the CD but nothing happens but the program is installed.
I start it.. it starts.. it goes to the Start up page where I choose.. DV to DVD or ... the 3 options.. I choose my option, the programs load with the girl and tha camera picture... As soon as I see the video editing part.. it closes after a fraction of a second.. I don't get any error message or windows alert.
I tried to uninstall the program and I get :
"Setup.DLL/SetupDLL.cpp (439)
pAPP:Ilead VideoSudio 9 PVENDOR: Ulead Systems PFUID (lots of letter and numbers) $7.1.100@Windows XP Service Pack 2(2600) IE 7.0.6000"
clock OK
Setup has experienced an error
Close any running programs ( I closed them all)
Empty your Temp folder (done)
Check your internet connection setup (done)
Still the same thing.
Any idea or suggestions? Thanks alot in advance

Yes you do have big problems trying to run a version that is not Vista Certified on Vista.
You should have installed it under WinXP compatibility mode, which may or may not work. There are some major differences in VS9, VS10-with the Vista patch, and VS11 that is developed for Vista. Some of those include the capture plug-in used, and the various drivers. VS9 uses the VFW/DSW capture plug-in, where VS11 uses the IVI only.
This is due to the program having to comply with Vista's requirements. Vista is not very backwards compatible when it comes to anything.
Go to the following MicroSoft Vista page and see if it may provide some clue on how to get your VS9 to run on Vista..

If you do manage to get it installed, keep in mind that it will probably be unstable, and may start causing problems.

THANKS for the fast reply.. I got it to work found a way to install again.. but it's not working great as you say.
I get
"Failed to use DirectShow Video Engine. Cannot PLayback The audio Stream, No Audio Hardwear is available or the hardwear is not responding"
I get sound on the computer...
I might have to use the Upgrate thing for 59.99.. that I get as a pop up.. can I upgrade from 9 to 11 directly ?
Thanks agian

Yes you can. However I'm going to make your decision a little more difficult, sorry..
They released VS12 in Japan at the first of this month. When they done that with PI, it was just a couple of months later it was released in the US. So VS12 may be available at the end of April, which is the customary time for new VS releases. It promises to be much, much more than VS11+....
