Cannot increase gif size when SAVE -- all gifs jagged

Post by JennyPats »

I know this is basic -- but I'm desperate.
When I develop a new gif and do a "Save As" -- my system suddenly saves it at the absolute lowest resolution and the gif is pixelated like crazy.
I've tried chaning every setting I can find, to no avail.
HELP -- much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More details, please...

Saving with PI or GIF Animator? If PI, which version?

What settings are you using, and exactly what are the steps you are making as you're saving?

Please remember we can't read minds, and have no idea specifically what you have tried, so trying to offer advice when we have no idea what you've tried, etc. is pretty tough. Much like asking you if you like the shirt I'm wearing right now...

256 colors is, of course, the maximum allowed by the GIF format. If you want a full range of colors, GIF format is not so good. The more colors the image has, and the wider the range, the worse the GIF format will make it appear.

From the Help file:
Soft - Select a level to determine the amount of blur that will be applied to your image. The higher the number, the smoother your image appears. This facilitates compression and compensates for any dithering you've previously applied to your image.
Have you tried this set to none?

Weight, that depends on the image and your taste, but Even should work.

Dither should likely be set to 100.

You didn't mention if this one is transparent or not.

OMG

Here's the deal -- the "Dither" has a 2 digit window -- so I thought it could only be set to the max of 10% when it could actually be set to 100%
(I didn't read the settings displayed on the right correctly)

Set it to 100% after reading your suggestions -- IT'S FIXED.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

PS
Great shirt... and, seriously thanks for taking time with this -- I REALLY needed those .gifs !!
