PI11/File Assoc. Icons, won't stick

Post by brucefl »

Hi,
Had this problem once before, had a problem with the HD.
When I installed PI11, the icon for the file assoc. disappears (.bmp, .jpg,.tif etc.) tried the tools folder options, and making sure it is pi, but they won't stay?
I looked for this because I asked it before, it is suppose to be PI launcher or Photoimpact on the programs.
did find this one below can't seem to find that key.
thanks Bruce

It' located at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT_PI3.Image_DefaultIcon. Right-click on the DefaultIcon folder (on the left side), select Permissions from the menu. In the Group or UserName, highlight the current user, then click on the Advance button at the bottom, in the next window click on Edit, then look for the Set Value under the Permissions, and check Deny.
