ULEAD Customer Service

Post by CBC »

Attempting to get customer service for ULEAD products is a head-banger :(

I've purchased 2 previous versions of VideoStudio, one of which is version 7 -- which qualifies me for upgrade pricing to 11.5. When I log in to view my purchases, it's all listed -- but for some items, the serial number field is blank -- including VideoStudio v7.

The links to 'contact us' take you to a FAQ searching system, and it took an annoyingly long time to find that I had to first view a FAQ doc before 'email Corel support' became an option.

No matter how I typed in my support request, I get an automatic answer to it, no email is generated, and I'm unable to contact anyone. I gave up. It apears to be virtually impossible to contact support regarding this issue.

And your question is....? If you are thinking that this post might attract the attention of Corel support, I am sorry to have to tell you that this Board is staffed by volunteers who are users like you and who have no connection whatsoever with Corel/Ulead... In fact, no one here is sure when or even if anyone from Corel ever logs on.

If you are wondering how to find the serial number of a previous version of VS, then if you don't have the earlier serial number on a CD envelope (with the boxed edition) or recorded elsewhere on your computer, but still have it installed (or can install it) on a computer somewhere, then if you click on the ? button in the top right of screen and select 'About Video Studio', you will find the serial number on the page that appears, to the bottom left of the splash logo which appears at the top, and just under the version number.

If your question is how to get your serial numbers appearing on the Corel website, I don't think I can help you. Personally, I gave up trying to contact, let alone get much sense, out of tech support about 5 or 6 years ago, and now I don't even try.  Hopefully someone else will have a more constructive suggestion on this one.
