Hi,
Tried to see it in FAQ and sticky items, but did not meet it. I am using Intel Core 2CPU 4300@1.80 GHz and 1.00 GB RAM computer with win XP and ulead video studio 7.01.0100
After capturing from DVD recorder to avi files and playing them i discovered that the view is "strobing". I did not have this problem before, but now i can't even burn the older avi into dvd discs without avoiding this "jumping view". And i am sure i was using these files before without problems.
Can anyone explain me the problem?
Thanks, Vytas

Welcome to the forums,
Just a guess since we don't know what format (codec) your "avi" is using. AVI is a container or wrapper, that is used for numerous video codecs, such as DV, DivX, Xvid.
So my guess is that you don't have the Field Order correctly specified. DV video must use the Lower Field First, field order, while several others will use Upper Field First.
With a captured clip in the time line or Library, right-click on the video clip, select Properties and post them back here.
Now whatever those properties are, your Project Properties should match. In the Preferences dialog, there is an option, Show message when inserting first video clip into time line, that should be checked. You can open the Preferences window by going to the File menu, or by simply pressing F6 on your keyboard...

Ok you say they match... So your project properties (File>Project Properties) and Video clip Properties match, including the field orders? Both should have the same field order.
What are you using to get the videos from your DVD recorder to your PC? The video clips are being converted from MPEG-2 (your DVD) to DV type-2, which you state is the video clip properties. Is this being done by the capture device or is your PC having to recode this while capturing? If the latter I would recommend trying to capture to MPEG-2. Also VS seems to like the DV type-1 better.
Just a note, if this strobing is noticed in the Preview playback, don't judge your video by that. It is just a preview, and VS must throw everything together on the fly. This is very demanding on PCs, and most of the time will be of a poorer quality than what you will actually produce.
