Cannot import from DVD

In VS10+, why is the "import" button always grayed out whenever I try to import from a dvd into a project? I'm not talking about copying commercial dvd's, no. I'm just trying to add files from homemade dvd-rw's. Cannot do it.

do you see files on the dvd in e "tree" structure on the left of the import screen? if so, did you put a checkmark in one of the boxes to indicate what to import?

Yes, this was the solution. I highlighted the file(s) I wanted to copy, but neglected to place a check in the blank white square beside it.
