But I would never want to crop without being able to see the entire scene or image; that's just totally against my nature! The balance of the entire image is that important to me.
Sure, if there were some minute detail somewhere, then I'd want to take that into consideration, but generally I would more likely deal with that with some other method, such as cloning, than via cropping. Large details would be dealt with during the overall cropping.
This means, of course, that I end up with some non-standard sized rectangles, but as I do my own matting when I want to print, it's not a problem. And if I'm not printing, it's even less of a concern.
As I play with PSPP X2, I realize that my cropping methods in it are almost identical to those I've used in all previous versions. The difference in X2 is hardly affecting me at all.
