Yellow icon in corner of newly imported video thumbnails

Post by martin_livingstone »

Hi

I've done a search for this and seen similar errors but the circumstances were different...

I've imported 2 DV tapes successfully from my Sony Camcorder, made a couple of projects and output them to a file no probs.

Now when I have imported a 3rd and 4th tape the thumbnail has a yellow icon in the top left corner and on clicking the thumbnail I only get a black screen in the preview window. But....

The files are in the target folder and I can drag and drop them from windows explorer onto the project timeline and then I can play them and the yellow icon disappears.

I get relinking error messages and can individually relink files but can't do a batch of them. I haven't used any of the new clips in a project, all I have done is capture them.

My questions are: -
Do I have a corrupted database or something else?
Would it be better to just do the video capture again for the whole tape?
Can I batch relink them?

{{EDIT}}
I think I may have answered my own question as to why - I renamed the folder containg the clips to something more meaningful than Tape 3 and Tape 4, however the questions still stand...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Best regards
Martin

you answered your own question:

a project file (VSP) is just a text document, with instructions to video files which is set by a path to a file name... any changes to the path needs to be updated in a VSP project, hence the relinking.
