Copy One or Two Images from DVD

Post by Julie »

Hello,

I've been burning slideshows with images onto DVDs using VS11. After I do this, I delete the images off of my hard drive. My question to you is if I need to print or email a certain image in the future from the slideshow, am I able to print or email certain images from the slideshow or does VS11 make it into one show and there's no way of chosing a few to print or email?

Thank you for your help.

The images in a slideshow are converted into video format. In other words, they are no longer in still image formats (e.g. jpeg, BMP etc). The only way you will be able to get a still image again is to capture a still With the slideshow in the timeline, then in the middle right of the editing screen, you will see a series of buttons, one of which is 'Save as Still Image'. You zoom in on the clip in the timeline till you find the clip you are after, move the jog slider over that frame and press that button. The still image will be saved in your working folder (File > Preferences > General).

However, don't expect the original quality of your photo, I am afraid, since in the rendering process its original size (and quality) will have been reformatted down to video format frame size (720 x 480 for NTSC and 720 x 576 for PAL). This will in most cases be a good deal smaller than your original and a good deal lower in quality, even though it looks great when seen as part of the video slideshow...

Hi Julie

When you burn a dvd there is an option to add a personal folder.

This allows you to include a folder containing data files, in your case your images.

I know this was an option for VS 10 and assume for 11 ( I do not have 11)

From the final burn window select the info icon (more settings for burning) lower left.

Hope this helps
