The problem is that when I burn a DVD, I have multiple instances of my video. I only want one.
This is the procedure that I followed.
1. I created a project that contains an introduction clip (video) that was provided with the software. I also have my short video clip. The intro clip that I used also provides a short video clip that indicates the end of the video. Additionally, I have a title and an audio clip that also was provided my the software.
2. From the EDIT mode, I checked the project and it runs exactly as intended.
3. I went to SHARE and created the Video File and saved the project.
4. I closed the project and tested the saved MPG file with a media player and it plays exactly the way it was intended.
5. I opened Video Studio (with a new project) and went to SHARE > Create Disc.
6. I then Added the MPG file.
7. Since I don't want a Menu and I only have 1 file, I left the Create Menu button and the Use First Clip As Introductory Video unchecked.
8. The next step is to preview the video prior to burning and when I do, the playback gives multiple instances of he video; and of course when I burn, I get multiple instances of the video.
I just don't know what is triggering the multiple instances of my MPG file.
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
KCS
I have downloaded and reviewd the tutorials and read the manual topics that are concerned with SHARE and creating a DVD and none have helped me resolve my issue

What do you mean by "multiple instances", that it repeats? If so, you probably have it set to do that (auto repeat) in your project settings. Unchecking that option will fix it.

If you don't have a menu, what do you expect the DVD to do when it reaches the end of your video?
If you want to pop your video into the player and it starts the video straight away, then the trick is to create a simple menu (so it has somewhere to park when it has reached the end) but also complete the following

.I expect it to stop - just like I expect a Power Point to stop when done or a music cd to stop when it is done. Obviously, I don't understand the mechanics of a video dvd.sjj1805 wrote:If you don't have a menu, what do you expect the DVD to do when it reaches the end of your video?

I have tried several of the canned menus and they display my clips as previews. Are any of the menus static, (i.e. just selections and text that do not show preview clips?

I have 21 stock menu templates which only use text in the 'Text menus' sub-category of the menu templates...
Incidentally, I would add one gloss to Steve's photo display above. You will perhaps have seen that directly below the red box on the photo which surrounds 'Play all clips before menu', the box beside 'Auto repeat' is ticked. Untick it, and then in the bottom window in that screen, make sure that 'Back to menu' is selected in the drop down menu.
