Audio goes out of sync

Post by saswilson »

I have made a small slideshow which includes still images small video clips and an mp3 track. In the timeline I have it all in sync with the music, but when I create a VideoFile as an mpeg, the audio slowly goes out of sync and ends up about 2secs out. I have tried unticking smartrender, I have made sure both the video and audio are the same length. Could the problem be the transitions have made the video longer? or could it be the video clips that are slowed down using Playback speed?

The solution to this problem when it has been posted here before is to convert your mp3 audio track to .wav format. Audacity (free) is usually recommended.

Try that and let us know if it works for you

If you applied transitions *after* you inserted the music, you will find that in fact that overall length of your project will have shortened... Depending on the number of transitions inserted, this can built up in the end to several seconds shorter.

The idea with background music is essentially, and as far as practicable, to do all your editing, including insertion of transitions, first, and then time your music against that edited project...
