where do I download UOL (object library files)?

Post by vasek »

I would like to use some of the shapes in the easy palette, however I'm not sure how or where to download the images...

I have bought Photoimpact X3 online so I don't have an installation CD.

thanks for help in advance :!:

If you downloaded X3 then you should have downloaded all the components too.

In the Easy Palette, Library there's lots of content in there. If you wish to use a shape, then double click on one, this will transport the shape onto your blank canvas. You can change the colour, and also its mode to 3D from the Attribute bar.

thanks very much for your reply...

i thought the pallette would work the way you describe... however, in my case it doesn't...when I try to drag (or double click on ) an image from the easypalette I get a notification pops up saying:

"To use come of the templates and images in EasyPalette and Component Designer, you may need to download and install the content packs. Or if you already have the files on your computer, please click Browse button to link to the files."...

when I click on 'Browse...'

I get another notification saying:

"I can not locate the following file(s):"
C:\Program Files\...\OBJS00ba.UFO

I understand it's looking for the "UFO" file and it's clearly not on my computer... is there a place I can download those or do I have to reinstall and see if that fixes it?

thanks!

Add me to the list for this issue. I am a *very* long term user of Ulead PhotoImpact. I believe my first version (v2.0?) came as bundled freeware with a scanner I bought in the late 90's.

Anyway, I get the same, "To use some of the templates and images in Easy Palette and Component Designer, you my need to download and install the content packs."

I downloaded X3 from the net as well. Installed on a new, clean machine.

I can use a some of the textures others fail. The 2D & 3D frame sets function, however none of the 'classic' style frames work, and throw the above error. I don't use component designer much, but I check a couple of my favorite items and they failed as above.

Help? Ideas? I can't see re-installing, if I have a #####-up download.

When you were sent your download links you should have received links for
upix3_esd_e.exe
upix3_esd_e_content.exe

where are the objects

Post by TomD »

Same here. I just downloaded trial version of X3 and the objects are not on my computer. It asks me to retrieve them from E drive.

Please advise. I am seriously thinking about upgrading, but I have to know if the objects/pictures are included...

Thanks

What the heck am I missing here? I too have the downloaded version of X3, and I just downloaded and installed the 197mb content pack. I cannot find it and it doesn't work.

Of these two exe files, it appears I only got this one -
upix3_esd_e_content.exe

This one does not appear. upix3_esd_e.exe

Seems like with every new version of this softwate, it becomes more difficult to use.

TBYB (trial) versions do not come with all the content.
