Audio Capability in MovieFactory 6 Plus

Post by AKav »

I'm currently using CD & DVD Pictureshow 4 to make photo slideshows set to music. I'm told this product will be phased out in time and that MovieFactory 6 Plus is a good product to consider as a replacement.

After searching around the Ulead page and searching the user web board, I'm unclear on the audio capability and am hoping someone can help me. (I downloaded the trial version also and am still not clear on a couple of things). If I do purchase the software, I won't be using any video. I'll do what I do now: use still photos, text and transition effects set to the music of my choosing.

1. I can currently trim audio to use only that portion of a song I want. Can I do the same thing with MovieFactory?

2. I can currently use multiple audio tracks. Can I do the same thing with MovieFactory?

3. I can use fade in/fade out on the audio, although the transition is rather abrupt and sometimes makes it obvious the audio has been trimmed. Does MovieFactory have similar fade capability and does it let you set the fade time?

Thanks in advance to any who respond. While I love the product I have now and it has served me well for quite some time, I want to make sure I cand find something comparable for the future which has a similar "look" to what I use now.

There are two products which may fit your needs, the one you have already identified, the other is VideoStudio.

Perhaps your best bet is to download the trial versions of both to see which one best fits your requirements. Both are excellent at making slide shows.
