error code 800413a4

Post by norman54 »

I've recently started using DVD Workshop 2 to author my Adobe Premiere timelines ready for burning with Nero having previously used Impression. With the few DVD's I've done there has been no problem, but now in trying to make an image file of a 1 hour 35 minute edit of a friend's old cine films it has 3 times nearly vompleted and then come up with 'Unspecified Error Code: 800413a4.
The only difference apart from the length of the piece is that there are gaps between the audio tracks I have added in Premiere.
When I tried again after checking on the option "Convert to disc template" it has come up with the warning that ' disc image file will be over the 4gb limit of FAT 32 file systems.
Can I convert to another system to accomodate this larger file and if so will it affect other Premiere files I have on hard disk?
Do gaps in the audio cause problems in creating the DVD?
Thanks for any help given.

I have the same problem

Post by EditMoose »

I'm getting the same error message. It's happening during the pre-burn phase when the software is multiplexing the video and audio.

My project is the same size as yours - about 135 minutes. It consists of many individual mpg titles.

I had already burned this project successfully several times when I had to make some video changes. I went into my Avid, made the changes, exported the changed segments as Quicktime References, then imported the Quickime References into Canopus Procoder Xpress and converted to MPG. I basically wrote over the mpgs that DVD Workshop was using. This is when the error message started during the multiplexing phase.

I don't have the "convert to disc template" boxes on my videos checked. Last night I re-rendered all my video titles in Procoder Xpress to make sure they had the same properties (bitrate).

I'm afraid my next step will be to re-import the video titles into the Library Manager and basically start re-authoring, which will mean I'll lose all the chapter points I've set up and the my menu links will have to be updated.

I know this isn't any help, but hopefully it will spark an idea in someone as to the common problem.

audio tracks?

Post by GeorgeW »

First, have you installed the update patches from Ulead's support pages?

Are you using any .mp3 audio tracks? (menu background music or alternate audio tracks)? If so, try removing them, or convert them to .wav 48khz audio tracks.

fat32 to ntfs

Post by norman54 »

I tried authoring in Impression and it told me the file was over the 4gb limit. I've converted to ntfs (which doesn't have the 4 gb limit) and am going to try again. I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks for replies - I will also get the latest patches.

Yep - all's well now that I've converted from fat 32 to NTFS. Hope this is helpful to others.

I've been using DVD workshop on a friends machine - just a one-off of vacation photos for me. We kept getting this error message: error 800413a4. The last time I happened to be sitting at the computer when it happened. At the very instant that the error message popped up, a windows (XP) message popped up, "You are running very low on disk space on drive C:, etc.". Even though the disk writer said that there was enough space on the drive (not a lot more- .2 gig), it was not enough. I'm still writing the disk again, after some disk housekeeping, but it's pretty clearwhat happened. I'll post this on the other two threads with this error as a keyword, too.
