WinDVD 9 Plus always on top mode

Post by dvdvideo »

I typically surf the web and watch dvds at the same time, with WinDVD 9 Plus, I can resize the window so it fits nicely in the corner of my web browser wich is nice....

I cannot see anywhere that there is an option to toggle "always on top" mode so that the dvd window does not disappear when the web browser is active and stays on top.

I have seen that in previous versions there was an option for "always on top" . Am I missing something or is this feature not included.

I've done some searching for this in WinDVD9 + and can not find any reference or setting for always on top. So apparently it is not available in this version..

Yes,I've done some researching also and the latest version to have always on top mode and video desktop was version 7.

I did some experimentation in the registry of WinDVD 9 and came up with modification that will enable always on top mode for WinDVD 9 Plus.It involves a simple change from 0 to 1 like this:

hkey_current_user/Software/IntervideoDVD9 click DVD9 and in the registry editor right click VIDEOWINDOW and change the value from 0 to 1

Hi

I tried this change that you said about in your message, but where can I find the control for 'always on top' once I've changed the value from 0 to 1? Sorry, I'm not very good at these sorts of things!

Thanks

Always On Top simple fix

Post by teld003 »

Can't believe they don't include "always on top" as an option.

Found a solution for those who don't want to mess with the registry:

All the usual programs I use to make a window "always on top" (such as FileboxExtender) don't work with WINDVD9. Found a small utility called ALWAYS ON TOP MAKER which solves the problem.

http://www.fadsoft.net/AlwaysOnTopMaker.htm

It's really bare bones, doesn't even indicate if it's running or not, simple hot key turns it on/off, but it works with WinDVD.

Indeed, I miss this option too.
