Help putting MPEG-1 clip on SVCD

I have a short clip that appears to be an MPEG-1 file (based on what shows in media properties) that I'm trying to use to create a SVCD disk. DMF3 seems to convert it (it took FOREVER compared to my DVD projects) and output a image file. But when I burn that to a CD it won't play, either in my DVD players or on my computer.

Any ideas? DMF doesn't complain that it's a MPEG-1 clip. Any gotchas on doing SVCDs? I haven't done them before.
