settings not saved from session to session

The post is wasted effort on my part. Since the 4.0 release is now being sold, there is no way that my problem as described below will every be addressed. No wonder I was able to buy a full box edition of 3.0 for $20 a couple of months ago!!!!

Does anyone know how to save the settings for the project video/audio compression and the project output? I always have to reenter that I want AC3 audio compression and that I want to write the output to a directory rather than directly to a DVD. Not a big deal, but a minor pain in the ***. MF2 saved these values quite nicely from session to session (yes, I know that MF2 does not have AC3). It seems odd to me that MF3 does not do the same in regards to remembering your prior session's settings.
