Hi Guys
I don't know what's happened but suddenly (virtually over night) I cannot import music from my library because, it says, of Digital Rights Management (DRM). It seems all the files I've ripped via WMP (V. 10 on WinXP), with a WMA extension, won't open now in MSP8, yet I was using them only a week ago.
Has anyone else suffered this and how can I allow DRM in MSP so I can go back to using these files in my home projects or do I have to rip them all again to my project or something (or is this another attempt by MS to take decisions on what its customers should or should not do)???
Any advice gratefully received.

Sounds like it. I use DeepRipper http://www.deepburner.com/?r=products&pr=deepripper (and also DeepBurner) with great satisfaction and have never had a DRM problem.

Advice suggests it could be something to do with WMP11, which I recently moved up to. I'm deciding at the moment whether to just re-rip tracks I need and save them as MP3/ WAV or run XP restore to release the WMAs and make them playable across any programme as they were before the upgrade.
Another possible cause, from my research, could be a download that may have come via Sony music. It seems they may have built in a 'catch all' DRM widget. Once that has been released on your PC it re-writes all your WMA files to restrict how you play any DRM track regardless of if you had them on the PC before or not.
If true, that is not good from a privacy factor!
