Post by Jean Martin »

I recently purchased VS 11 Plus and had been had been doing some minor editing without any noticeable problems. This was an upgrade from a prior version. I am running Vista Home Premium.

Today I attempted to start VS and I received an error message that VS had stopped working. I rebooted twice. Still the application would not start.

The complete error message reads as follows:

Did you by chance update Vista to the SP1 service patch? Since it has been working, and suddenly stops, something has changed with your system, and when we figure what that is, we may be able to correct it.

Have you made any other changes?
Other updates?
Added other software/hardware?
Deleted/removed anything?

I have not added or removed any hardware. There was an Apple update. Safari was downloaded and perhaps a new version of Quicktime.

The last time I used VS was on March 9th...all was well. I went out of town from 12th through the 21st and completely shut down my system. I unplugged it. March 24th I tried to use VS and got the error message.

There are actually two error messages that pop up. The first one that is in my first post and a slightly different message that follows the first message. That second message is as follows:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
