Crash Problem
My computer crashed on me and I have lost pratically everything needing much reinstallation of programmes. I bought Video studio 10 Plus at a retail store. No problems there. I upgraded to 11 on line and I still have the downloaded programme to install. I entered my 11 Plus key, but it will not be accepted. Can any one give me any advice? The key is the same as that shown on Corel's site.
Who do I contact? It is almost impossible trying to contact Corel. Anyone know the way in?

If you purchased the upgrade from VS10, you will first be prompted to enter the Serial number for VS10. If you're trying to enter the serial number for version 11 at that time it will not accept it.
Also make sure that you're entering the number without any spaces. I recently had that problem, where the serial number I was sent did contain a space, which I entered, however the program stated the serial number was not vaild. I finally figured out that the space can not be there. Also check to make sure that in the serial number you're entering zero instead of an O, and that you have enough digits. There are some serial numbers that will have a string of zeros, and it is easy to miss one or add too many..

Ideally, you should install v 10 first, then upgrade to v 11. It may be possible to do it without installing v 10, by CD-juggling, but it doesn't always work: you still need both serial numbers. An upgrade, as its name implies , is not a full version, which would allow a full install without proof of the earlier version.

Try cleaning up everything from the VS11 install attempt before trying to reinstall. Go through and delete any files that you find on your system that may have been installed in this attempt. You may have a folder under ~Program Files\Ulead Systems, called "Ulead VideoStudio 11", delete it. Also check under the "C:\Documents and Settings\UserNameHere\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio" for the VS11 folder. Then you can search the registry for anything remaining. Make sure you back-up your registry first.
Open the registry editor by Start>Run and typing in "regedit" (without the quotes). In Regedit, select File>Export. Give it a name such as today's date, "march242008". That will create a backup should you mess something up.
Once that is done go to the Edit menu and select Find or simply press CTL + F on your keyboard. In the search window type in VideoStudio 11 and press the Find Next button. It will search the registry for that. When it locates an entry, LOOK at the results on the Right side. If it is not the installation file, go ahead and delete it. The reason I specify this is that the location of your install file for VS 11 is also in your registry, otherwise you could not access it on your PC. If you delete that entry, you will not be able to get to those install files.
Entries such as "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11" are ok to delete. When it finds an entry and you delete it, you can continue your search by pressing the F3 key on your keyboard. Continue on until you get the prompt "Finished searching through the registry".
I will emphasize only do the above if you are comfortable in doing so.
Once that is done, try reinstalling.

Ok Guys
I solved the problem myself.
The form insists on having a name entered under Company. Most of the products allow you to leave it blank. Thought I'd let you boffs know so that you can help anyone else who might have the same problem.
(Trying to get this on your forum is a nightmare. Haven'y they fixed it yet?

Thank you for reminding us of this. I do recall now, this coming up about a year ago. However generally it doesn't provide an error, just that the "next" button is not activated until you complete all boxes.
Since I first encountered this, I've been accustom to entering "self" into the Company box..
