Dear all,
Pls I need advice. How possible is it to use some features of VS8 in VS10 (e.g. SmartSound Quicktracks, Objects, Images, etc) having the two in the same system?
Or can Project file from VS8 be imported to VS10?

It is always good practice to complete a video project started with one software on the same software and use the new one for new projects. This applies to all NLEs of all makes, unless the makers have a translator, which is very rare. The reason is fairly obvious.
Workaround: if you are 100% satisfied that your project in the old version is OK, you can render it into its native format and start a new project in the new software, taking in your rendered file as your starting point.

Welcome to the forums,
Smartsounds is installed to a common folder on your system. It is used by any version of VS installed. So there is no need to migrate any of the SmartSound Quicktracks from version to version.
If you have images, music (not the auto music, which are SmartSound's ), sample video clips, and titles, from VS8 on your system, then just click on the Folder icon in the Libraries to insert them. Be advised that you are just linking to them. So if you they are in a directory that will be uninstalled, by uninstalling VS8, you will need to move them to another directory on your system.
Yes you can use VS8 project files in VS10. Generally they are backwards compatible. However if you Save the project file in VS10, you will not be able to open it again in VS8.
Edited Since Devil beat me to this, I will reinforce what he stated about completing a project in the version it was started in.
