Since you don't specify which version of WinDVD 9, and there are 3 to choose from, I've got to ask, did you purchase the correct one? The version that is suppose to work with Blu-Ray is appropriately titled WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-Ray. There is also a version called WinDVD 9 Plus, that will not work with Blu-Ray..

WinDVD 9 plus BluRay does not play BluRay movies

Post by filip@vallei.be »

Hi,
I waited fo a long time and now I have it WinDVD 9 Plus, because with this version it is possible to play HD-movies.
No... I need the WinDVD 9 Plus BluRay, so I bought this one yesterday and installed it on a Sony Vaio LT1S desktop computer with Windows Vista Home Premium. And still, after putting SpiderMan 3 BluRay, he tries to display the movie, but don't start. STOP is on the screen and no way to get uit run.
Help please?

HDCP?

Post by BvN »

I don't understand Vista (still working on XP :-) but what is the video protocol on the laptop? TDMS or VGA? If it is TDMS (the HDMI) data protocol, then I would look for HDCP compliance. An easy way to test would be to use an external VGA connected display, turn off the laptop's display and see if the movie appears. If it does then the problem is the lack of HDCP compliance. WinDVD9+ says that it plays by the HDCP rules.

2gig RAM
