Video Studio 9 crashes when editing
I have tried several times to create videos with Video Studio 9, and it crashes with an error message such as "encountered error and needs to close." The computer crashed a while back and the data was placed on a new K: drive. Is the problem due to the fact the photos/videos for editing are no longer on the C: drive? All attempts at creating videos before the partition were successful. Only after the program was reinstalled did the problem occur. Any thoughts?

All of my clips are on an external drive. That is not your problem.
Do you follow the suggested workflow of first creating a DVD compliant MPEG-2 file before burning?
Also, what are the properties of your clips?
What are the properties of your project?
What are your output properties?

Thank you Black Lab. I tried creating an MPEG-2 file and it was successful. I then tried "Share">"Create Disc">"Add Video" and received the following message:
"Ulead VideoStudio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"
This is similar to messages in the past. The error message refers to a file called "herdocdll.dll" as the "ModName" Could that be the problem?

Welcome to the forum.
I just "googled" herdocdll.dll as I just experienced a crash using VideoStudio 10+ which found your post.
I can't offer you any assistance as VideoStudio crashes for many people. I suggest that you try again as the crashes I experience do not have any pattern to them - sometimes they happen when doing a particular task and then other times it doesn't.
I experience a lot of crashes AFTER I exit the program which I find very strange.
There are lots of posts relating to crashes and no one seems to have an answer however I personally think that VideoStudio does NOT manage available memory (ram) particularly well.
