Chapters in Edit mode vs creation in Share mode

Hi -
The recommended method of DVD creation is to create a video file first, then share->create DVD.

But if I create my chapter points in Edit mode, then create the video file, all chapter points are lost when it's time to import the mpeg and create the DVD.

1) Am I missing something? Is there a way to retain chapter points from a VSP edit session?

2) If not, what is the point of creating chapters in an edit session?

That is correct, if you first create a video file before burning it will not retain chapter points set during editing. This procedure was developed to work around some problems people had when trying to burn directly from the timeline. Giving up the ability to set chapters is the price you pay.

You can try to burn directly from the time line. Some people have no problems.
