Import from handycam

Hi guys,

I bought a panasonic hdd handycam and I was recommended to MF6.

May I know can MF6 able to import files from the handycam?

Probably, however without knowing which Panasonic we can't be sure.

What I see is that it records to the HDD in MPEG-2 format, and uses a USB2 to transfer files.

I would transfer the video to your PC, then insert them into MovieFactory. Capturing video using USB can pose some problems, however if you capture to the same format, specs ect., you should be alright. I would still recommend transferring to your PC then work with the video.

I tried transfering manually but the files will not be sorted out according to the dates and it will takes ages to sort everything correctly.

In WinXP you can change the folder view to Details. Then right-click on the top menu bar (it has Name, Size, Type, ect.) and in the menu add other attributes you want displayed, one being the Date Created. Then just like in a spreadsheet, clicking on the Title above each column, Windows will sort them.
