Been searching the forums and haven't found the answer yet so I'm going ahead and posting the problem . . .
I've outputted an overlay avi of smoke particles from Cool 3D PS. I bring it into VS 10+ and try to put it in the overlay track - in the main track is my video with fire - and it goes in the OL track fine, but when I go to change the size of it I get the dreaded error message, "The instruction 0x7c910f29 referrenced at memory 0x00000292. The memory could not be read," appears.
What's bizarre is that when I put that same overlay video in the main video track, there's no problem!
I've searched the forums for the memory problem and found a few things, but they didn't work. I updated my Windows XP Home and that made no difference. I cleared my background programs to virtually nil and that didn't help either.
This is the only occurrence of the problem. It doesn't happen in any other software.
I dunno, maybe I should be posting this on the Cool 3D PS Forum?
Any suggestions are appreciated . . .

Found a Work-Around . . .
I simply inserted the Cool 3D PS project file into the overlay track.
It worked just fine.
I have no idea why the C3DPS overlay avi file caused that error, but at least I was able to get the final touch to the video.
