VideoStudio 11.5 and AVCHD? Any better since 11+? Trial ver?

Post by mdolan »

Hi all, I downloaded and tried VS 11+ (demo version) after I bought a Sony HDR-SR7 camcorder last year (AVCHD based HD video, hard drive storage). It is an outstanding camera, but VS11+ was absolutely horrible for editing video (one of those cases where the trial easily convinced me not to buy).

Now I see there's a version 11.5 which supposedly fixed some of the AVCHD features, but when I downloaded the latest trial version it won't let me use it (says my trial is expired... it must see the version 11+ trial I used last year and says it's timed out).

Does anyone know how to force it to let me try the v11.5 trial? After my initial experience with VS11+, I was so dismayed there's no way on earth I'd pay for v11.5 without being able to try it first.

Second, does 11.5 allow for you to import AVCHD from a directory on the computer's hard drive (I think 11+ only let you import from the camera itself - very dumb)?

You might as well wait for v12 that should be out in a month or so and will, hopefully, be even better.

Good idea; didn't realize 12 was that close. Thanks

I'm just guessing, since it was just released in Japan.

It looks like there's going to be quite a performance improvement for AVCHD:
