Open Video File error: file format mismatch [16803:1:3]

New DVD 6+ . Used to have Vista, had to restore to original XP. Was able to move MPEG4 Movie Files using XP and subsequent VISTA, but not anymore! What does this mean; what can I do? I'm not IT savvy
