Relinking in VS9 clips from VS8

After looking at several posts I went ahead and deleted VS8 then went to Remove Programs in XP and selected VS 9 and did the repair option. As of now things seem to work, however I am unable to use previous Project files. I keep getting unable to relink. Not only that buta I set up my files on my external hard drive for data the same in VS9 as I did VS 8 and simply copied all files from 8 to 9 thinking they would work then deleted the ones in VS8. I can't seem to relink anything. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can use the older ones in VS9.

I had this exact same problem...I went back through and reloaded the program and all seemed to work well for me. I purchased the download (upgrade). I am not sure why this happened...seems strange though.

Did you reload VS 8 again or VS9

I reloaded VS 9 again...then unistalled VS 8 after I ensured VS 9 was completely loaded.

Thanks for quick rsponse. I think I have lost them irregardless. What I did was attempt to transfer the captured video from VS8 Capture to VS9 and a message came up and said they were too large to go in the recycle bin and did I want to delete and I said yes, thus the actual captured clips are gone forever. Even though I have the project files their is no clips for them to find.

I am sorry to hear that...hopefully you will find them archived elsewhere.
