Resend Download Link

Post by cjbowman »

I purchased the software last year and still have the e-mail that has the Activation Code and download link. That link has expired and I now have a new computer. I downloaded the Trial Version thinking I could put in my Activation Code but it wouldn't let me. How do I get a new download link sent to me so I can use the software again?

Contact the vendor who sold it to you in the first place.

Yet another reminder of this post:
Lost serial numbers and software

Your alternative would have been to fork out the extra for an extended download period - an option that was given at the time of purchase and is selected by default and so you have to click the dustbin to opt out.

That doesnt help

I have the Activation Code just need to reinstall the software which I purchased online from ULEAD. There is no number to contact anyone and when I install the Trial Version, my Activation Code (which again, I still have) doesn't work. I just need the actual software to enter in the Code that I purchased. Any suggestions or contact numbers for a real person instead of the KnowledgeBase (which is useful for most Tech Support Related questions) which doesn't provide Contact Info or download information?

Did you read my previous response?
Did you click on the link in that response?

Basically when you purchased the software you were given a time limited download link which has now expired. You had two choices at the time of purchase.

1. Back up your software onto CD/DVD
or
2. Purchase the extended download insurance valid for 2 years.

I did read your response and I appreciate your willingness to help. The problem is that I am obviously past the point of your recommendation with respect the the option being available to me as my download link expired in January 2007. How do I re-obtain a download link for the software I have already purchased?

Simply put you can't.
If you could all those people who forked out the extra on a 2 year download insurance would be asking for an immediate refund - what would the point be in purchasing it if they were going to give out a new link anyway?

I think you are going to have to put this down to experience and make sure that you keep back up copies of anything important as per my link

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Sorry none of us here, are Corel employees or representatives, we are just like you, users of their products. We have no way of knowing the phone numbers to Corel's Corporate Offices.

You can look on Corel's website for phone numbers, however those go to their "fee based" tech support. Try using the internet to search for their corporate office information, maybe you'll have some luck finding it.

It's sad when someone can not except their own mistakes, and always feels that it is someone else's responsibility, someone else's fault that they can't maintain their own property. If you damaged your own car, is it the manufacturer's fault, and their responsibility to provide you with a replacement?

If you went to a shop and purchased an item and lost it, do you think the shop would give you another one free?

At least the software company have provided purchasers with the option to include a 2 year download insurance. It is selected by default when you place an order and you must deliberately de-select it if you decide you do not want it.
